Introduction: Melody

Melody only plays a very MINOR role in the game. You’ll only meet her at the end of a secret dungeon. In the Phantasar lore as a whole, she plays a bigger role.

Melody is one of the 100 Elves of the First Generation, created by their God of Creation named Yoyendo, and first awakened in the Garden of Creation. These 100 Elves are all immortal (not invincible so they can still get killed through murder or an accident, but not by old age), and most of them are very extremely powerful in a certain branch of magic.

Melody is, as her name implies, a true master of music. Her music even has magic properties. She never speaks, but when she has a music instrument (mostly a lute or a lyre) she can make her music speak for her. She can even make sure only the kind of people she desires to understand her actually do understand her. Like people who wish her no harm. This way she often introduces herself when she doesn’t trust you, since then you only can understand what she is “saying” when she you come to her with the right intentions.

Many eras prior to the story line in this game there was a huge genocide taking place in which the Befindos tried to exterminate all Elves (this genocide is actually mentioned in The Secrets of Dyrt). Melody saved herself by feeling into a cave, of which the entrance collapsed immediately afterward. Melody has been living underground ever since. The millennia she spend underground eventually turned her into a “Dark Elf”. Despite the name of these kinds of Elves Melody always remained pure-hearted, but she’s still really scared of strangers, due to a trauma left by the genocide she survived.
