Maybe working with DOSBox can a pain sometimes having to type everything in commands and stuff. Hey, even I as a command prompt lover sometimes suffer here, so back in the DOS days I created JBM. The abbreviation just stands for "Jeroen Broks' Menu", I know I should have come up with a more original name, but I couldn't think of one, and hey, I guess JBM will do.
Now I am thinking about making a few adaptions to JBM so it can be shared to the public, as I do think some people can still have some benefit by it, as it runs perfectly in DOSBox. It will even on a real DOS computer cause pretty little RAM issues, due to it being changed to batch files, allowing itself to be completely unloaded before starting a program or game up, and to be automatically reloaded, whenever you end the game or utility or whatever. That may sound pretty amateur now, but back then it was the only way to make sure that RAM wasn't an issue, and other menu utilities back then, did the same thing (for the same reasons). JBM is a bit simplistic in nature, so anyone who has a bit of understanding of file systems (as they worked in DOS) should be able to configure it, and if desired I can create a few tools for it, so some things can be done automatically, saving you a lot of trouble.
Of course if it's doable (as I did see I lost a few important components of JBM, and I wanna make sure I can replace them), JBM will eventually come to Game Jolt, but I hope you understand I cannot make any promises yet. 😒
