The Weaponographist is a super challenging, fast paced dungeon crawler where the hero is not really a nice guy.
In this game you play as the handsome, world-famous Doug McGrave, a demon hunter for hire who saves towns from the demons that haunt them. One day, a witch comes along begging you to save her town from the demonic presence. Sadly, they are unable to pay you, so you refuse to help. You quickly learn that you should have never been so harsh to a witch. You then become cursed, losing all of your gold, your weapons, your health… all that makes you a hero.
Now, you are trapped in their little town trying to fight off the demonic dungeon packed full of monsters that everyone is in fear of. This high speed dungeon crawler has you fighting off enemies to cling onto the only thing you have left, your life. Once you kill the monsters, if you are lucky, they may drop their weapon. You can pick those up and use them, however, the curse causes them to fall apart in your hands after only a few uses. Fight fast, kill many enemies in a combo, and keep replacing your weapons to move onto the next floor of the dungeon. It is not about how many monsters you kill, but rather how fast you can kill them.
This game causes you to constantly change to a variety of weapons; swords, bows, chainsaws, magic wands, whips… so adaptation is a must. Each time you play a floor, the monsters from that floor may change. Over time, you can collect goop and use it place of money in the town to pay locals for upgrades for weapons, abilities, and health. These upgrades will help you get farther in the dungeon, in hopes of breaking your curse.
Battle level after level of mysterious monsters, watch your weapons break in your hands, and pay the locals with goop, all because you refused to help a witch in distress. Fight to remove your curse in The Weaponographist.
This game comes out on Steam on April 29th.
