The human slowly made her way through the tall forest. What were those figures?
She runs from tree to tree, hiding from anything that might be behind the corner.
She jumps at the slightest movement of a branch.
She spots a small clearing along the path, and quickens her movements to investigate what it is.
A torn up vendor cart and a large cardboard box shaped like a building sit snug between the trees in the clearing.
The cart has the title "Nice Cream" written on it. Most likely an off brand of some ice cream company.
In the cardboard box, hunks of metal, some basketballs, and empty plastic bottles are strewn about.
On the front it reads "OUTPOST OF THE GREAT PAPYRUS"
This was an outpost? it looks more like a child's play place than anything.
Suddenly, she feels as though shes being watched.
She grabs one of the metal plates she could hopefully use to defend herself, and runs as fast as she can, not paying any mind to her surroundings.
As she runs she trips on something and lands in the snow. She covers her head with the round metal scrap.
She stays still, and distant sounds of an engine can be heard.
An engine? A CAR? IS SOMEONE CHASING HER??
She gets back up and runs into the forest away from the sound.
The motor sounds get closer by the second. She hides behind a bush.
Blue, black, and yellow feathers rattle just in her field of view, the motor blaring in her ears. She covers them, not hearing the sounds she makes while rustling in the bushes.
She closes her eyes.
The motor sound is now in front of her.
She widens her eyes to see a seven foot tall bird with humungous eyes and a gaping jaw with blades rotating around the edges like a chainsaw.
She screams and runs away as soon as she realizes; this is the danger she was thinking she would find.
She feels the teeth of the beast tear the bottom parts of her sweater, when a large, cold, metal figure scoops her up from across her path and dashes away from the feathered monster with the chainsaw like mouth.
She closes her eyes and feels around for something to grab onto.
She finds a place she can fit her hands around.
Its... soft?
MONSTER BIOLOGY:
Snowdrake/Chilldrake - These feathered birds need to constantly be moving or else they wont be able to start again without a push. Even though their motor-like insides are loud, they have adapted very sensitive hearing. they are incredible prey monstrosities, but they are always in pain because the engine sounds they make give them horrifying, neverending headaches. They have large concealed eyes but cannot see in a traditional way. they only see motion, and at that, very little. Their teeth spin rapidly around their top and bottom jaws respectively, which is what their body powers by running.
