First of all I wish all my followers all the best for 2017.
What you are not one of my followers, well in that case all the worst for 2017 (that was just a joke, and you know it) :P

Well I hate December. For me it’s a month where everything is one big mess. Of course in the Netherlands that starts with Sinterklaas, but since I have no kids, I can skip that, but then Christmas (2 days here) and the mess around New Years Eve. I am always glad when the new year has begun and normal life will go on again.

And thus I used the month December is a USEFUL way.

Let’s sum stuff up, shall we?

• Jake’s prologue is basically done, but I do need to make you able to interact with the stores, even though they are all closed during the prologue.

• Marrilona’s prologue contains one cosmetic bug. A character not appearing when he should.

• Dandor’s and Hando Stillor’s prologues offer no real trouble.

• Well Jake and Marrilona meeting each other starting the true plot works without problems. Don’t just think this will be your everyday romance story you find in pocket novels. I HATE unrealistic novels like that. Romance is a nice plot element to use, but more is always needed I believe :P

• The dungeons Holy Path, Ancient Fairy Altar and the Road To Hell all work.

• There is also a secret dungeon: The Subterranean River. Completing it will shine a light on the deeper lore of the Phantasar universe, plus give you a nice item (and an achievement).

• The Forbidden Library has been completed in map form, I only need to add its boss and then that’s complete.

• And people wanting to look for Walda, she can be found in the demo. She will hide on four different spots in the game, the other three spots will be in the full version of the game.

Well the Forbidden Library will be final dungeon in the demo, the first dungeon coming next will be part of the full version of the game, so that will make you believe the demo will be there in a few days, right?
Well I will have to tamper that expectation a bit, as I still do have a lot to do for that, and not yet a proper schedule to set it all up. At least I can say that the first week of January I got a lot of time on my hands to dedicate to the game, but that says very little at this point.

Here are the things I MUST have done prior to releasing the demo

• I need to put in the boss for the Library. Bosses always take some extra care.

• Some scenario will take place upon leaving the library.

• A very small part of the first non-demo dungeon (The Elfish Road) will be made, but with a “barrier” in it blocking you from non-demo content.

• The second master of the game (Freya) will be available though, and I do have to prep her all up.

• And all issues you can find when you click this link MUST be taken care off before I can even THINK of releasing the demo.

• I also must write a few scripts that will make releasing stuff very easy on me.

• Not to mention that a BIG TEST will also be in order before release.

Well I can make a few revelations about the full game already.

• At the end of the demo you will find out that things are completely inconsistent. Jake and Marrilona already came to that conclusion themselves, of course, how are things really going? The demo will answer that!

• Dandor and Hando Stillor are of course already seen in their respective prologues, but nowhere else in the demo. In the very first non-demo dungeon (The Elfish Road) Hando Stillor will join the party.

• As you know Dwarves eat Fairies. How then will Dandor get along with Marrilona and join the party without posing a threat to her?

• What is the reason for the racial war? The full game will tell that.

• Does that black dragon actually exist? And if it does, where does it truly come from?

• In the demo Marrilona and Hando Stillor cannot get all their spells. In the full game, they can.

• Who is the spirit who spoke to Dandor during his prologue?

• What Jake and Marrilona do not know is that their is actually a 5th race involved in the big racial war. Who are they? And what is their role in all this?

• All four heroes will be able to obtain a secret power. If you can use that wisely, perhaps you can really benefit in battle.

• And also a lot more new enemies and new dungeons will be waiting for you.

• I voiced the final boss (unlisted in the game’s description for spoiler prevention) myself and terrified the crap out of my friends who were with me while all recording sessions took place (since they were voice actors themselves as well). Is that a good or a bad sign?

• What will happen if you collect all 250 black orbs?

• There are more masters out there. What can they teach you?

Have a little more patience and you might be able to play the first content soon.
Please note the demo will count as a playable alpha version of the game. Be prepared some features might not yet work completely or maybe not at all.
