Now you can see the shopkeeper spying on what weapons you are actually buying so he doesn't feel left out. It uses yanfly's shop options script as a base and then remixes the stuff used in it for different places. (except the ability to view weapon attributes below and the scrolling text stuff, that is more custom)
Obviously to not use +10 png files to setup all shops, the slot rectangles of all item icons are one rectangle grabbed from the screen snapshot and then thrown a darker color on top of it, and the background behind the slot icons is just a tiny pattern bitmap drawn hundreds of times (I didn't count)
Although I still did have to draw extra stuff (the gate scrolling up and the pattern thing the shopkeeper is standing behind)
The shading around the whole thing is just a png reused on many different scenes (like the menu screen)
The weapon shop will now be the main way to get new weapons (I didn't like how you only got them as randomized rewards in side missions) so now the shop items will be the former side mission weapon rewards, also still randomized.
Of course, Y/N does not care about any of this since all she cares about is buying weapons and then pointing them at random people while she recounts her dark past.
Who knew I could bloat the devlog texts by just telling how most of it works.
