I was a little burned out for a bit and experiencing mild seasonal depression, which happens once every so often this time of year. But now I'm experiencing a BOOM of creativity, so now I'm gonna take advantage of it.
Edges are still a major problem, as in the grabbing mechanic is glitchy as heck: I keep getting random, variable Y positions despite hardcoding it to stick the fighter in one place.
I have a feeling I know what's on everyone's mind: When are you gonna finish Mario already? When do we get to see Link and Kirby stuff? Work on other Fighters! Well, unfortunately, Mario being the first fighter being worked on, I still have to build the entire match gameplay "engine"/framework around him. I gotta build animation transitions/parameters, gameplay attributes, gravity, jumping, controls, AI, crouching, attacks, specials, etc. And I still have hitboxes/frame data, knockback, shields, etc to build up.
I sorta have this "Build-A-Fighter" system set up for myself in my Editor where I can just stick a model in the scene and attach certain objects and scripts, and BAM. I just gotta change animations, moveset scripts, assets, etc.
Getting other fighters up and running won't take NEARLY as long as Mario is taking. The core foundation will already be set.
And also don't forget the other stages I've revealed. They need to be built up as well. I have only my test stage set up at the moment.
That's all for now, I hope to have more later! ^_^
