Okay, so the first 24 hours seem good....of course, the ten percent rule reared its ugly head, but the game did a little bit better than I hoped! The game has 50 followers!🙌🏼

Still some little issues to add to the update checklist...in the article below.


Alright so we have:

  • A visual glitch that sometimes causes the dialogue box to disappear, leaving only the words (barely legible against the mostly bright backgrounds). This is probably caused by the webm videos being used as UI elements - downloadable builds are actually fine with it but browser builds are not.

  • Spelling errors...quite embarrassing for someone with years of academia under their belt, but I guess we can chalk that up to solodev stress? In any case, I will be going through every line ONCE AGAIN to make sure everything is right - has to be for the future translations!

  • GameJolt API - as you know I could not get it to work for a browser build....YET. I will be investigating.

  • If there are any other bugs, please do not hesitate to let me know...although it would be nice to try and not be TOO condescending in your review.

All in all, I think the game is fine beyond that! As buggy as this version is, I'm gonna give it a little time to find its audience as the translations depend on it. I promise all of these issue will be addressed in the next update of this game so until then, please hang tight and try to enjoy it anyway I guess LOL

Mae Borowski is the main character of Night in the Woods! It's an adventure game that tells the story of her return to her hometown of Possum Springs. She was confirmed as canonically pan in a social media post by the game's creator Scott Benson.

I swear there's a special kind of AAAAAGGGHHHHH when debugging game code and finally discovering solutions to the most annoying problems THE DAY BEFORE RELEASE.....

I'm sick, but I'll keep pushing - I want this game to be published and available for all.
