It’s been a while since I posted something, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting for so long. It turns out the next update will take a little more time than expected, due to some extra changes I have to apply.
First of all, the game will use the Pxtone DLL by Ben Hickling instead of wave files. This will drastically decrease the size of the zip archive
and improve the sound quality. This is what I wanted to do since the beginning of the development, although I didn’t realize that I had been using the wrong version of Pxtone, which is why Game Maker didn’t play the songs properly back then.
Because of that, I have to rewrite all the songs with the old version of Pxtone to make sure Game Maker will play them properly. The positive aspect is that it is a great opportunity to improve some songs which I’m not satisfied with.
I already rewrote and improved :
the main theme
the map theme
the boss theme
two level-specific songs
I don’t have many songs left, so this problem should be fixed quickly.
I also have to partially rewrite the map drawing code. As I expected it slows down the game when too many levels are displayed on the map screen.
I’m not working on this yet but I will soon be.
Finally, I’m working on a new zone, Crystal Palace. It is loosely based on the eponymous level from Glovekid and Glovegirl, but also on the
scrapped level Hidden Palace from Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
It is a colorful underwater cavern filled with stones, crystals and traps.
Only the first act is complete so far, and the music is not composed yet since I’m busy rewriting the old songs.

Once again, the game is not cancelled, and it will never be.
