So apparently Unity's CEO decided to start taxing us Peasants. Here's what it means for SotML and even CZ Studios's beginning in general


"Bruh" ~ Cbrainz, roughly four days ago

Looks like the big man himself, once known for wanting to sell you magazines in Battlefield 3 against real money and also generally a person recognized as being a pile of pus and the embodiment of Corporate greed, has decided to pull a little stunt on all of us. (I'll let you check their "Trust me bro revenue share" on your own if you aren't up to speed)


SotML is, of course, not hit by those new policies and will certainly not be either as it is my first official game under Cz Studios.

However, continuing to advance and use Unity as the studio's main engine would be a very, very bad idea considering how Unity is willing to pull stunts like that without warning all of a sudden.

So this is what is going to happen next for SotML :

Phase 01 : SotML will continue It's development under the Unity Engine up to the Prologue release, which acts as the demo of the entire game.

- This will release in roughly 2 ~ 3 releases, the first of which being the coming Alpha. (which is almost player ready now, i'll give an update on that soon)

- The prologue covers roughly 1/4 of the game's total runtime, so you'll have quite a bit to work with already at that point


Phase 02 : I will then transition to the Unreal Engine and begin Reworking SotML's prologue into a Unreal Engine Game instead.

- While there may be many differences between the two engines inner workings, i am still a little noob learning the ropes in term of game dev. So this switch shouldn't be too harsh. (Especially for a game as simple as SotML, which has no In-real-time shenanigans inside of it)


Phase 03 : I will then release the New Remastered Prologue of SotML in Unreal engine format, and then permanently Delete the Unity Prologue from SotML's page.

- From that point on, the rest of the game will then be made using Unreal Engine instead.


So yeah, that's about that when it comes to that good ol' Unity stunt. 'Cause i ain't paying taxes to anything but my own government, thank you very much.

It sucks that i had to publish this before the coming big update, since that one was going to see the official launch of Cz Studios on various social medias, among other things.

But hey, when life gives you lemons right?

Devlog #Alpha : 01/08/2024 : Game Bible Finalization.

In this first pre-unity devlog, we explore the finalized concepts of the coming prologue of SotML.

I swear, at that point the heavens themselves have turned against me or something..

We are now nearing the end of March, and I come around with a mixed bag of news.

The Battle System UI is fully finished, and can now be used to render my ideas out, but when it comes to the coding aspect..

Happy 2024 , and an explanation onto what has been happening over the course of the past 2 months or so.

It has now been a little more than two weeks, and I have nothing much to show right now. So far, my courses on Unity are going well, and am learning what I need to learn.

Almost done with the basics, soon moving to more intermediary stuff. More bellow.

Alright, it's been a while since the last "True" update, and i wanted to give you a little update on where things stand at the moment.

Alright my boiz, it's been longer than i had anticipated because a few things happened :

1. I have finished my coding courses.

2. I have been actively working on the Game prototype, and managed to make roughly half of it.

So see you soon with a build!

I fell sick for an entire week. Even now, I'm barely getting back up. I hate everything, and everyone as well.

While I was unable to work on the prototype for an entire week, I'll soon be back at it.

This will release before the end of march. Period.

I forgot February only has 28 days.
