Good Question!
1. Ambient Sound Effects:
The Microsoft DOS version of “Super Street Fighter II: TURBO” had environmental sounds that played during the battles, such as people talking in the background in Dee Jay’s stage, or crows cawing in the background of Cammy’s stage, the latter of the two also happening in the original arcade version for the CAPCOM Play System II. We plan to put those into the deluxe variant of the game as well, along with some custom ones for which the original CPS2 variant’s B board didn’t possess enough storage space, such as ocean waves and seagulls in Blanka’s stage for example.
2. Animated Stages:
Sure, the stock build of the game may not have room for animated background sprites, due to the way it’s structured, but the same is not the case for the deluxe edition! We’re going to go all out, bringing you as many animated backgrounds as we can find in their comprehensive forms from the original arcade classic! We’ve already got T. Hawk’s, Cammy’s, Dhalsim’s, Dee Jay’s, Balrog’s (M. Bison’s In Japan), and Vega’s (Balrog’s In Japan). If you can help us find the variant of Ryu’s stage that flies through the clouds, that’ll be perfect!
3. A “Versus” Mode:
Ever wanted to select who you’d battle next, instead of advancing through the game sequentially? Well, although you’ll have to get a “Game Over” after each win in order to break the story lock in and select another fighter and a different challenger, we are definitely going to enable a “Versus” mode, like in every single other official “STREET FIGHTER” game! You may not be able to select where each match’ll take place, but in a way you can: just choose the opponent whose stage you’d like to travel to!
4. Sound Test:
Just like in “Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection”, by CAPCOM®, we shall include a fully functioning collection of every single song we ever created for, slash used in the development of our “GIGA STREET FIGHTER II: The Final Round” fan game! Just don’t jam out for more than five minutes without pressing a button, or you’ll accidentally let the game reset, and you’ll have to find your place in the original soundtrack all over aGain!
We hope you love these new features we’re planning, and we can’t wait to discover how much more you enjoy the deluxe variant of the game over the standard edition!
Until the official launch of the standard variant though, “Please enjoy, and as always, ‘Happy Jading!™’”
