I’ve been rewriting some of the architecture behind the soft bodied bacteria in the game and decided to share some some of the results with you guys
A bit of history first: I’ve redesigned the soft body system probably around a dozen times, and I’ve never been too happy with the results I’ve gotten.
This time, however, I think I have one of the most versatile and stable results I’ve had so far. I managed to build a system where I can change almost any property of the soft body in real-time and without breaking any of the physics (yay editor scripting!).
I can easily change stuff like the verticies,
and the size of the bacteria
But also any other property that controls the behavior of the soft-body to create some very different results (spring frequency, damping, mass etc.)
