Space Rig Zeta 2.0: Space Rig Ultra

Remember that last post from forever ago?

This is now a thing:

Look, I even added beam weapons!

Beowwwww!

Here’s what else I’m adding.

Gun-a-licious!

right now I’m doing a lot of restructuring and house-cleaning of the game code to enable later features. Stuff like more variable weapons and stuff with modular appearences. This means a more or less complete overhaul of the code powering part and weapon generation and behavior. It’s a slog but I think it will help refine the core fun of the game.

Sometime soon I will have snappies of my revamped menu system up, but making 3 256x256 layers of a parallax sprite takes a lot of effort and I need to do that first.

I want to keep everyone up to date on these and other developments but I’m not really sure how I want to do it. Should I:

  1. Post exclusively on here even though the updates aren’t actually being syndicated on gamejolt because of the branching of Space Rig Ultra from Space Rig Zeta’s base code?

  2. Start a devlog on tigsource because tigsource?

  3. Start a devlog on tumblr because tumblr? Can I somehow tie it back to here?

  4. Other options because ‘Murka.

IT’S UP TO YOU NOW!

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

Heya! I wanted to show some gameplay progress i made so far. I hope you like it ^^

What you all think

So here's the first of the zodiac signs i will make for the next weeks.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

not the greatest house, but it's a house! :D
