Team TCM | Summer Devlog | English
Hey guys! I know, we're a month behind on the game's devlogs, and I apologize for that. It's been a hectic couple of months, but we've made a lot of progress, and it seems like the first playable version of Geometry Dash Galaxy is very close to release. Below, I'll list the current progress of Team TCM's projects.
Geometry Dash: Galaxy
We've made significant progress on the development of this fan game. After several modifications and reorganizations of various aspects of the project, we now have a clear direction. The complete game will be divided into 3 parts or chapters.
First, I want to share the current state of the game, and then I'll share the latest news regarding the game's release.
All levels have been completed and are in playtesting.
The artwork for the first world maps is in its final stages.
The map's programming has been tested and is being polished. Hitboxes and interactions are being added. Movement is completely free.
The comics are being redone due to changes in the story. It might take a few weeks.
Achievements and icons are already being designed.
The interface is being polished.
If I had to give a percentage of progress, I'd say we're about 60-70% complete. The most complex part so far has been the map, as it's being created entirely from scratch using a separate system from the main game engine.
Now, regarding the release, the first chapter, which will be released in the coming months, will serve as an introduction to the game and its mechanics. Compared to the rest, it will have the least amount of content, but I assure you that the quality is far superior to Odyssey. The second chapter, which will include two of the previously announced levels (Arcade Dwellers and Sharpshooter), is expected to be released at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. A Christmas-themed level Creator Contest will be held for this second chapter to encourage the community to continue creating. The third chapter will be the conclusion of the story and the game. We want this to be the highest-quality chapter of the game, so the priority will be the levels and the story. We don't want to rush the release of this final chapter, so its release date is indefinite, but if I had to give an estimated date, it would be sometime in 2027.
Now, why did this devlog take so long?
Well, basically, I thought I could surprise you with a trailer at the end of June announcing the July release. However, due to some complications, this wasn't possible. I was hoping to release it this month, but it wasn't possible, so I apologize in advance. Rest assured, we'll soon be showing the map working in-game and providing updates on the levels.
As an apology, I've attached an image of the map interface. Some textures still need adjusting, but it's the closest we have to the final product so far. Many thanks to Zerextt for working so hard on the map art.

Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading this devlog. If you're interested in more news about this title, please feel free to join the Team TCM community on Discord and don't forget to follow both SwitchStep and Team TCM on YouTube and their social media channels to receive the latest game updates.
See you next month!
