I was going to put a short recap of what happened with the game, and after it, but that bits boring. I’ll be beginning with the announcement, then move on to that if you care to read it.
Anyways, I’ve put a team together for the succesor of YCFL. I’ve had the design in my head shortly after YCFL was released. I’ve been hesitant to the start the project until I personally was ready, and felt I had the contacts to do it justice. I can only give hints as to what the gameplay is. You all likely have played YCFL, which means you know the absurd nature of the game. The surprises that come about while playing, and the enjoyment of them being fresh. So, here’s what I can tell. The game will still be a huge satire. However, the satire will be much more subtle. It will be masked in what appears to be a game tackling an issue at certain points, while at other points mocking itself, and on a rare occasion, doing things just because they make me laugh. It will not be a platformer. It may still be a bit “ragey”. Lastly…. The most important thing. There’s a hamster happily runnin on a wheel. Doesn’t sound important? Well fuck me and call me your mother! That hamster will change your life. Anyways, the details are falling into place, the entire team will be returning from YCFL, with the addition of JTtheLlama. PolyDucks - who did the art - will be instead helping me with overall design and AI design. JTtheLlamawill be taking over on art. Very last thing, expect a slow development, spanning at minimum 3 months, if not more! I’ll be tossing out news articles as we have things to show. (Second very last thing, this project will not be abandoned, or cancelled. I’ve worked with these pricks multiple times over, and now we’re finally ready to kick some ass. Prepare your anuses. Shit’s about to get rough.)
Well, now that we’ve covered that much, I’d like to thank any of you fucks who happened to have played YCFL. It did far better than I was expecting (~1k plays on GJ, ~3k plays on NG, ~10+ views on Let’s Plays of the game). That’s a lot of people! It really meant a lot seeing those numbers slowly climb, and even being able to experience a few of the fabulous LPers play the game. I’m dumbfounded at the rating on here as well. 4.3? I don’t fucking get it. Regardless, I’m glad that it turned out as it did!
You’re Welcome.
