Update 1.0.4, is now up. It's also kinda big.

There are new status icons and a few general changes, but the most significant changes are in the towns. There are new NPCs, new dialogue, and a couple of NPCs will now change locations as you progress.

Much of these changes were implemented to address criticism from d757gaming's livestream about how the towns felt kind of lifeless.

I'm still considering how/if I want to address the issue of a few maps being too big and empty, or whether I should tone down the earlygame even more. Some places are intentionally empty-looking, and the game is supposed to be punishing.

By the way, I'll be holding off on updating the game until late next week. Around that time, I'll add in some new screenshots, too.

Be careful when importing saves. Since some objects and events were moved around, you may end up stuck in unexpected places. The encyclopedia may have issues updating as well.

  • Blue Potion HP restoration increased from 45 to 55.

  • All bosses available in the demo now drop more Sil.

  • Elemental aura states and elemental weakness ailments now have unique icons.

  • Skills that apply these states also have these icons.

  • Battle dialogue text boxes now display the speaker's name.

  • Added dialogue in the Human Kingdom - South overworld that gives basic directions to the Middle Wilds. The dialogue will only appear after completing the first main quest.

  • You can now sleep in Olrock Castle by interacting with the beds. Before, you had to interact with nearby NPCs to do so (which you can still do).

  • Added some new dialogue for a few NPCs in Olrock Castle.

  • Added a few NPCs and treasure spots in Olrock Castle.

  • Added a new treasure spot related to Cliff Man in Olrock City. It will appear after finishing the first main quest.

  • The Olrock moat fisherman has an additional, less pointless dialogue line.

  • The moat fisherman will now move to another location in the world after the first main quest has been completed.

  • Added a few other NPCs and treasure spots in Olrock City.

  • Added a little more detail to Olrock City's map.

  • Added a few NPCs in Forest Town Ced.

  • Added a dialogue choice box for the elderly fisher in Ced. It will only appear if you're going down the right route.

  • Added and changed a little dialogue for existing NPCs in Ced.

  • Made a few map and enemy placement adjustments in the Murkwoods.

  • Some other dialogue and map changes I don't really remember.

100+ downloads! (including other sites) Plus, a release window for the postgame.

I experimented with battle start animations in RPG Maker VX Ace and made a good few of them. I may make more if there's any demand. I could make a tutorial for how to make these, too...

The full version of the Cursed Sword of KYLE is now released!

Now, our somewhat experienced adventurers can complete their quest to deal with a certain troublesome treasure.

The main story is about 4-5 hours long, with some optional stuff here and there.

I've decided that I'll be posting some stuff from the game to showcase the features implemented so far - first is the DIFFICULTY SELECTION, the very first thing that greets you in the game! HYSTERIYA and HARDCORE mode are locked behind beating Episode 1!

I've recently started working on my next project, The Cold Trail. It's about Radovan looking for his brother-in-arms in the untamed tundra.

Feel free to check out the game page if you're interested. I'll have a demo out next month.

the game'll be free :)

Fullversion is out.

Now you can be in debt and die in a fantasy dungeon for countless times at the cost of more debt!

The sequel to The Tower of KYLE now has it's own game page (linked below)! It'll be rather longer than its predecessor, so I'll need a while to work on it. I plan to release a demo next month, though.

kyletower 1.0.6 patch notes

Some of the changes here were based on a review on the rpgmaker.net page.

The game is a bit more difficult now, but the XP and Sil pool is larger to compensate.

Ninesoulssea - the Rpg Maker Asset Pack @ninesoulssea

These are recolors of RPG Maker MZ assets to make a Black Dragon and Nightmare. Pretty basic stuff, but some may find it useful. Be sure to read the terms of use in the article, though.
