Ah finally, the first 2024 proper update! :D
1) I AT LAST have edge stops mostly working. (when a fighter will stop at an edge when roll-dodging and the like instead of just falling off). I'll have to make a few adjustments, because it's not quite there yet. The screen will shake and when on the extreme edge of a floor or platform, you can still fall off.
2) Next up, I believe I have mentioned this before, but I don't remember, so let's go again. I added a ground pound as Mario's new Down Aerial and moved Cape back to the Side Special slot. Right now, the ground pound is not 100% functional as it still acts like a normal aerial. I will make it tinto a stall-then-fall, with a meteor smash hitbox, like some other fighters have in official Smash. So what happened to the Tornado attack? It's still here, just back on the Down Special slot like in 64 and Melee. As a nice touch, I even managed to add its special property where you slowly rise up in the air when tapping B during its animation!
3, I realized I still have issues with edge climbing. D: So it's back to the drawing board there. The problem is, the Y position while climbing is never 100% consistent. Meaning that while you CAN climb right in the right place, you often climb too high, falling back onto the ground with your landing animations, or climb too low, and clip through the floor and wall. Basically you will move right through the edge and fall through it. I also have another glitch that happens when falling from higher ground onto another cliff (like jumping, then grabbing a cliff as you move down). The fighter will stay with their FEET at the ledge, so they're grabbing air above it.
4) I next intend to add DownDamageU/D animations when getting attacked while laying on the ground. I also added a timer when idling while facing up or down on the ground, where the fighter gets back up on their own.
