You probably didn’t expect a MAJOR update only 2 days after a full update, and 1 day after an emergency update…. To tell the truth… neither did I.
First of all I want to announce the release of the current version of the Game’s official walkthrough. Please note that not everything is covered in it yet, and only the missions you can play in the demo are covered.
So if you are stuck just click here
(A printer friendly version will be released later. This walkthrough is generated using my very own walkthrough builder… A pretty nifty too if I may say so myself).
Well and then the new demo.
Let’s break it all down in this changelog, shall we?
COSMETIC: Fix in a room in the path of magic, and very likely nobody noticed what was wrong there :P
FIXED: Clicking the close icon in-game didn’t do anything. That has been fixed.
This fix also takes care of the problem that the quit feature OS X provides didn’t work either. (Mac Only)
FIXED: This was one of the things I uploaded the emergency upload for, but encountering Harry as a boss crashed the game, and that has been fixed.
FIXED: Stores having less items in stock than the stock maximum would crash the game
FIXED: A crash caused by Hando Stillor’s automove has been fixed
FIXED: Berserk crashing the game
FIXED: When Hando Stillor narrated the personal prologue intros the “trema” (or “umlaut”) was not taken up well. This fix only affects the Dutch version of the game.
FIXED: Entering Frendor Bushes again could cause the system to announce chapter 1 again, even if you were in later chapters already. This has been fixed.
OPTIMIZATION: The game could start lagging on the first attack. This had to do with many load actions done at the time, as the game uses a kind of “load-on-demand” system that loads the data the first time it is used. For this routine it could cause serious lags, so I made sure all required data for that particular routine has been moved to the loading of the game as a whole.
NOTE: In order to do fix #2 I had to break open the LAURA II engine itself and recompile it. Aggressive virus scanners can react a little bit allergic to .exe files that have been modified. Good virus scanners should either prompt you about this or ignore this, so just update your data. It should mean no harm.
ABILITY: Jake can now learn “Earth Slicer”, although I don’t deem it likely you’ll learn that one in this demo.
