My (rushed) submission for Art Weeklies 10/20/2023. Theme chosen: Super Mario franchise.

Right as I'm about to give up for the night (not without progress, mind you), a thought occurs to me and now the player has a loyal doggo 
Need to do a little cleanup on the movements and get the animations properly working, but we have followers! 
Mostly code work for the battle map, so the screenie doesn't look all that spectacular. I don't have a good recording program anymore (thanks a lot, SSR) to demonstrate the functional things that happen now. (Article for update details)

#MyDreamPowerUp that I would like to see for the Super Mario series is the return of the hammer. This hammer is magical and not only use for smashing enemies but able to perform a spin attack when you jump in the air, and pound ground for earthquake.

I don't care what year it is or what console generation we're on. This game has save blocks like it's 1989 
Lots of progress on the battle system 
Definitely has a certain familiar feel to it 
Going to be spending some time figuring out Badg--er, Charms. Yeah, Chaaaaarms, that's it
