This game is very unresponsive, which is a big issue because i need to control precisely how much walk but it's impossible to predict because every dropped frame makes the explorer walk further than i want.
My computer has 32 GB RAM. A game that looks like this, with rooms this small, should run at a stable 60 frames per second.
Fun game.
The randomly appearing spike is cool for the first time. But placing it in every second level is cruel and forces a snail pace gameplay in an otherwise great puzzle platformer. I think adding a sound que and tiny delay before it drops/comes from ground would fix it.

Perspective: 2D side-view
Themes: Mystery, Ancient Egypt
Duat Forgotten Souls is a mysterious puzzle adventure inspired by Egyptian mythology.
The player controls an explorer who enters an ancient pyramid, only to fall into its depths and awaken in a strange dimension, a version of the Duat, where lost souls are tested through endless trials.
In the darkness, he meets a firefly that offers to light his way. She isn’t a guide, but her glow becomes his only source of hope as he tries to escape the shifting chambers and traps of this otherworldly place.
An explorer arrives at a forgotten pyramid, driven by curiosity and a thirst for discovery. Upon entering, the floor collapses, dragging him into a hidden dimension, a place where the souls of the dead are tested.
In the darkness, he meets a talking firefly who claims no one has ever escaped. Still, she offers to shine her light for him. Together, they face rooms full of traps, shifting gravity, and puzzles that test both instinct and trust.
As they journey deeper, the explorer realizes the firefly’s advice often leads to danger. Suspicion grows, until he discovers human remains and learns the truth: the firefly was once a person like him, who failed to escape and now wanders as a soul trapped in this place.
Their bond changes from distrust to friendship, but freedom comes at a cost.
At the end, when they finally reach the exit, the firefly reveals she cannot leave, her time in the world of the living has long passed. The explorer escapes, promising he will find a way to free her soul someday.
The Explorer: A curious, pragmatic adventurer with a sharp sense of humor. His main goal is to escape the pyramid, though the journey forces him to face fear, doubt, and empathy.
The Firefly: A mysterious soul bound to the pyramid. Once human, she now drifts as light within the darkness. At first manipulative and distant, she later reveals her pain, regret, and humanity.
Gravity Manipulation: Rotate the environment to walk on walls and ceilings, unlocking new paths and perspectives.
Environmental Puzzles: Move boxes, trigger levers, and open doors to progress through intricate rooms.
Deadly Traps: Avoid falling spikes, collapsing floors, and hidden mechanisms.
Light-Based Exploration: The firefly’s glow guides the player, shaping visibility and atmosphere.
Emotional Storytelling: Dialogues gradually reveal the firefly’s past and the explorer’s growing bond with her.
Inspired by Egyptian mythology, "Duat" is a place where souls are put through death trials.
