surprisingly good demo. the mechanical side is interesting, with the stat boost system, the way quests are done through items and the plot progression in general, and the plot is nice, too - if a bit cliche. the world is fun to explore - the void seems to be like your usual fantasy landscape but here and there you find things that throw you off balance - in a good way, of course. the battles are surprisingly fun, too, especially against bosses and mini-bosses. all in all, this speaks promise.
some other things of note i've found in the demo:
- you can walk on the ceiling in Rose's house on the second and third floors - you can do so where there's no in-between tiles between the ceiling and floor tiles.
- if Fletcher's weapon is a scythe, then why does his battle animation have him swing a sword? weird.
- even after you kill 3 bats in the basement you can't turn in the innkeeper's quest.
- Rose still appears in dialogues, primarily in her house, even when she's not currently in your party.
- it's "shelf", not "shelve" xP
you did well with this demo, Fletcher. i'd love to see the project grow and to see more of the voidscape. wish you and the game well ;)
