What do you think?

just got to the end of alpha 2 and the game seems pretty promising! i love the darker take on the whole "reborn in another world" genre, and there's a lot of ballsy stuff put in here that you can't find outside of horror games (and even they are pretty soft by now) or stuff from the early days of the rpg maker) the technical aspect really lets down, though - for all the atmosphere built and interactions abound the locations, which do get better with time, are a total mishmash in the beginning - the house and the museum look nice (even though the museum is so small lmao) but the grassy plains with the crows and the abandoned house look... not the best, let's say. i suggest you go back sometime and redo them to look nicer, hard to take the game seriously when the map looks like my younger brother messing up my progress in rpg maker for the sake of spiting me - no offense given, of course. making Nephele's bleeding portrait have a transparent background and also giving her more expressions (shouldn't be hard since you made her in the character generator) would be nice, and changing her mom's portrait to look fitting to her blue gown instead of her copying her daughter's attire would also be a nice detail. you can also walk on the wooden tables and the plasma tv's in nephele's home, and the latter even serve as a way to walk on the fucking ceiling hahahahahah)))) next, in the museum shooting cutscene you can walk around freely which definitely takes away from the shock of the moment - the cutscene is supposed to instill fear but instead the player just goofs around wandering and whatnot - at least that's what i did. a way to fix this would be to check the Wait box in each Set Movement event command in the cutscene - that should do the trick. also, this might be a nitpick but i suggest you get rid of the random encounters and replace them with on-map ones, that will not only make the game feel more alive but also help drive home the feel that Nephele somehow got into an mmo - i have yet to see an mmo that has you go into random encounters final-fantasy style, in most games of the genre monsters roam around doing jackshit unless you catch their attention, so, yep - unless you're a fan of the random encounters i suggest you look into replacing them) and, finally, man, i understand that it's hard to think after you've just been shot and fucking died but Nephele really should've recognized that the shadow is a manifestation of the killer from the museum shooting, he said the same things as the moustached basterd did, word-for-word, you don't have to be sherlock holmes to spot the resemblance))))

keep in mind, i didn't write all of that with any malicious intent - i genuinely want to see the project grow, i'm interested in what direction you'll take Nephele and her tale - all the aforementioned things are just critique to help you get better, Dev, and i hope you adress all the stuff i've mentioned! good luck, lots of inspiration to ya, and take care)
