What do you think?

On a dark night, deep within the forests of Louisiana, your car gets stuck in the slick mud. You emerge from your car to free it from the mud, when suddenly your vision is darkened by a bag over your head. You wake up in a blood filled basement, your only memory being the canvas over your eyes before it all went black. In the basement with you is a corpse of an officer, mangled but recognizably human. The only sign of life is a low pitched buzz emanating from the radio on his chest. You manage to get a signal, and on the other side you are contacted by the police, who were investigating the place you find yourself in right now. With the help of the investigator on the other end, you have to make it out alive, or suffer the same fate as those who came before.

The Slaughter Case is an unsymmetrical co-op game in which one player tries to get out of a building and the other does their best to navigate police files to aid them.
Inspired by such games as GrannyWe were here and Keep talking and nobody explodesThe Slaughter Case relies on ARG elements, where one player can roam the house freely and the other has access to documents outlining the house's many mysteries.

The point of this demo is to gather feedback on gameplay, ARG element and puzzle complexity, as well as gather funds for potential full release on Steam. It lacks randomization and a lot of more complex gameplay features and is mostly designed as a proof of concept and a directional guide for development of the full game.

CONTROLS (Cannot be changed in the game):

  • WASD - movement

  • Left click - Use objects/items

  • Right click - Pick up/drop items

  • Left Ctrl - Crouch

  • F - Lighter on/off

Minimum 2 players required. Playing alone might make the game unnecessarily difficult or even unbeatable.
