MAGNOBROS

Magno Bros is a 2D platformer that follows the journey of two brothers, Zip and Zap, who possess unique magnetic abilities. As living magnets, they use their powers of attraction and repulsion to navigate a world overwhelmed by pollution and industrial exploitation. After an accident in a sustainable factory separates the brothers, they must traverse hazardous environments to reunite and restore balance to their world.

The Story

In a future dominated by unchecked industry, Zip and Zap work in a factory committed to sustainable technology. When an experiment goes wrong, it releases a toxic gas that wreaks havoc on the facility, separating the brothers and corrupting its machinery. Each brother faces their own challenges in different areas of the factory and its surroundings:

• Zip, the elder brother, has a positive magnetic charge. With his long, flexible arms, he can attract objects, scale walls, and rescue workers trapped in the chaos.

• Zap, the younger brother, wields a negative magnetic charge. His powerful legs and repelling abilities allow him to push away obstacles, clear paths, and defend against enemies.

As the brothers venture through laboratories, factory floors, junkyards, and sewers, they confront corrupted robots, treacherous traps, and environmental puzzles. In the final stage, they reunite at the heart of the factory, combining their magnetic powers to defeat the source of pollution and restore harmony.

Game Development

Magno Bros was created using the Godot Engine, with GDScript powering its innovative mechanics. The game combines engaging platforming with clever puzzles that highlight the complementary abilities of the brothers. Its visually stunning pixel art style immerses players in a world of stark contrasts—where industrial decay meets the hope of sustainable renewal.

The project was developed by NOBLE, a passionate team of young developers formed at the SENAI “Gaspar Ricardo Junior” technical school in Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil. With guidance from our mentors, Emerson Magalhães and Daniel Cintori, we worked tirelessly to create a game that is both fun and meaningful.
