The Pokemons Rot mod tells about various Pokemon-related stories, and one of them is related to Xatu:

This Pokemon is a parasite that lives at the expense of the host. To get what he wants, the Cat affects the mind of the host psychically until it completely switches to controlling the body.
Xatu flew away that night and flew aimlessly without a path until he arrived in Unova, where he met BF. Katlich considered him the ideal next host. Under the mental influence of the Cat, Xatu began to observe the BF, learning more and more about him. Finally finding the right moment, Xatu arrives at the BF's house on a deep snowy night.
