What do you think?

Well, it even has prototype in the name so a lack of optimization and content is a given.

The aesthetic of the game is really nice though and the artstyle together with the audio manages to create a convincing mood. The cute / chibi style worked really well and matched the environment really nicely. Of course some screams and other sound effects during the combat would've made it even better because of the contrast they would create in the otherwise peaceful world.

The gameplay was somewhat dull though, because at the moment it was for the most part me charging the shuriken, throwing it and then dashing away and repeating. I think things should have much less hp (or the damage should be higher), especially for stealth / surprise attacks. It was pretty disappointing how little damage the katana backstab did, and having to rely on the shuriken for the basic combat got old pretty fast. That said, I like the stealth concept, even though the map doesn't really do it justice and the enemy AI is pretty basic at the moment. If you haven't already please do look for inspiration in Mark of the Ninja for example.

I guess what I want to say is that the game should try to offer a stealth option for the patient and observant players and fast and interesting combat for those who prefer a more direct approach. Basic risk vs. reward type of thing you know. If you do manage to play "well", you should be generously rewarded for it.

The camera went haywire a couple of times (upside down etc.), but hey, it's a prototype. Also found it pretty weird that the character kept walking while I wasn't even pressing anything. The game also throws quite a lot of information at you straight from the beginning, which can take a while to digest. Of course this too is understandable for a prototype, since making a tutorial would really be a waste at this point of the development.

Not gonna give it a rating from one to five, but I'll say that it looks almost too good for a prototype. I think the focus should be more on gameplay, but maybe that's just the programmer in me talking. There can never be enough (good) stealth games :).

It was interesting I guess. Obviously very early. I will need to see more before I really rate it anything.

Also just for the hell of it, I found the edge of the map and jumped off haha.

This project looks really good, but it needs some improvements.
The sword is really hard to use and the game lags really bad...

Oh, controls, uh. WASD for movement, Space for Jump, R to dash, TAB to switch weapons, T to switch on/off the noise detection thing.

LMB to attack, the sword only backstabs atm, and the shuriken charges up if you hold the mouse button down.

Middle mouse button to lock on.

One & Two - equip weaons. You can use the Two to recharge the shuriken.
