Depois das vitórias de Sonic contra Robotnik em sua trajetória, Robotnik ataca novamente com seus planos infalíveis. Com seu novo projeto de dominar e acabar o mundo com suas invenções mecânicas, cria uma fonte e junta vários mundos e galáxias diferentes em um só. Sonic retorna para Green Hill Zone e vá para um dos mundos dominado por Robotnik, Timlarse, para para-lo. No entanto, seus aliados estão mais fortes e capazes de parar Sonic e seus companheiros, junto de uma enorme criação, chamada Veroinia, um equipamento capaz de controlar o mundo e acabar com a história de Sonic, junto da Amy, sua melhor companheira e consoladora.

Plot:
After Sonic's victories against Robotnik throughout his journey, Robotnik strikes again with his infallible plans. With his new project to dominate and destroy the world with his mechanical inventions, he creates a fountain and merges several different worlds and galaxies into one. Sonic returns to Green Hill Zone and goes to one of the worlds dominated by Robotnik, Timlarse, to stop him. However, his allies are stronger and capable of stopping Sonic and his companions, along with a huge creation called Veroinia, a device capable of controlling the world and ending Sonic's story, along with Amy, his best companion and comforter.
