A point-and-click adventure about a man's fascination with, and attempt to reach, a mysterious domed structure that lies beyond an impassable mire.
Adventure Game Studio page here.
<Windows users>
To run the game, just unzip the downloaded file and double-click TheDome.exe.
You can also run winsetup.exe
(see here for details) for various runtime engine set-up options. You'll need to adjust Graphics Settings to ensure the play area is a suitable size for modern desktop resolutions.
<GNU/Linux users>
To run the game you should:
1) Extract the tar file (tar -xf TheDome_GNULinux_V1-0-0.tar.gz
)
2) Make the shell script (TheDome
) and executable file (data/ags32
or data/ags64
) executable (e.g. sudo chmod +x ags64
)
3) Run the shell script, e.g. using ./TheDome
from a terminal (remember to include the "./")
*To set up the game, edit the information in data/acsetup.cfg.
Note that there are three different versions of this, read in order, with each one over-riding the previous. Please see here for details.
If you have problems getting the native GNU/Linux version to work, you could also run the Windows version:
1) Via Wine (works fine)
2) In a virtual machine
Using either of these methods will also allow you to use the handy winsetup.exe
, covered above.
