Poem 1
Haggard and slow
Mind way down below
The mask i have to wear
its cracks are starting to show
Flaking away and revealing
the hurt that's within me.
Stress and anxiety
having to hide
Not fair at all
yet I've no choice
Those whose supposed to care
fail to see nor hear
how much I'm hurting
mentally and emotionally
What can i do?
Where can i go?
On a level, I dunno
However, i do know one thing
I can only go up
if i hit rock bottom
I know That I'm Not weak
So i'll keep fighting
The mask may need fixing
but i'll keep tripping
as i need to, as i Have to
I rather stumble and fall
than give in and lay
where I've fallen and not learn at all.
Poem 2
Silence
It reigns over all
It's seen many a fall and Many a rise
-
However,
None ever notice it's there
It's presence is forever near
Watching, waiting
Like time it's always working
Keeping quiet
so you may listen to all around you
Yet it pauses often and sits with those
who dare or care sit with it
-
Take a moment and a breath
stay where you are
Listen and acknowledge
what it provides
Let the thoughts come then go
Focus on the present
What you need and What you know
Let the moment pass
and embrace the silence by you
-
It's there
not as an enemy but as a friend
See them for who and what they are
Once ready and calm
It smiles as you go on your way again
Hopeful of your time spent well
-
Yet, It frowns when you are sad,
hurt and alone
Silence cannot talk
Cannot comfort you
Yet it wishes to
It can do nothing but watch
Mute and powerless
All it can do then
Is Hope for you
-
Like the friend or family
who stands by you
not sure of how to help
or if they even can
So they stay yet they move
They are all around
Waiting for when you need
their silence again
Poem 3
Come lil one
I see you crying
Let me hold you
keep you safe and warm
Let the silence and your cries
surround and be all
Let them out
Let them fall
You are more over all
Shh, calm lil one
I've got you now
Let the sleep's shadow
take you to slumber now
I'll stay by you out here
Protect you til you wake.
Poem 4
It's hard
Irritating even
When you wish to speak
yet you cannot
To say your two cents
but they shut you down
Wanting to be in
yet they cast you out
What else can you do
But sit idly about?
-
Watch as they talk
Laugh and jeer
while you can only leer
Sometimes,
It's better
to just keep to yourself
-
Yet somehow,
there's always a way
to find a friend
that'll make yer day ~
