So a couple weeks ago, I decided to go amongst my (probably too many) platforms, and poll for a demo among the ones that had given the most interest to the Eternal Frenemies Project. The three main sites where the polls would count are my Discord Server, my Tumblr, and here.
I did the Discord one first as a "qualifier", because it has the biggest concentration of people that have been supportive of the project over the years. I put a poll up with two choices - "whatever" and "yes". I would only consider polling elsewhere - and by extension the demo itself - if enough people responded "yes" within the first week. To my surprise, I got six votes in favor in a few days (the server is usually pretty dead, hence the surprise).
On to Tumblr and GJ. I decided to poll Tumblr a week after GJ because of the different limits on how long the poll could last (GJ has 14 days, Tumblr has 7 days) and I wanted the to end in the same 24-hour period. For both of these, I included a "yes", "no", and a "whatever" as a valid opinion (and a way to determine how likely it was for people to be like "oh look a poll, I'll just vote whatever cos I don't care to get into it" or like "i wonder what this is, lemme check out some posts....ehh not interested and i feel like voting to voice that").
As you can see on my page, "yes" is in the lead for GameJolt and Discord, which leaves Tumblr (which only has six hours and some change left to go)! "Yes" is in the lead right now, but there are times when the activity on my page shoots up unexpectedly so I'm gonna keep my eye out to the last.
Looking forward to sharing the total results with you all later!!
