As I had mentioned in a previous post, I'm going with the bird's eye view perspective for this game. Check on the original image how this affects the base, as the car goes around it.
It might look a little 3D, but it's atually a two layered sprite:
The same thing goes for the new zombies. They're separated in two layers: head (top) and body (bottom). This will also very much come in handy when I code headshots which blow their faces off AND explosions which blow their bodies and send their heads flying through the screen. Fun times!
The above gif shows the zombie "standard" walking animation (sorry for the messy bottom layer, I have to fix that! This is their attack animation, from when they're punching the base building:
That's it for now! For my next steps, I might work some more on the zombies and on the car shooting. I'm also not totally satisfied with the game's colors yet, and I'm gonna do some investigation on the game's palette.
