Any tips for making a good puzzle game? I'm having a little trouble coming up with a good central mechanic that works well with a story and isn't too... all over the place.

Bio-me* Progress Update #1:

I've decided on a visual style for the game! Only four colors (2-bit)- those three pale green-yellows, and a bright orange. (Blue isn't included in the full game.)

Movement and framework are complete- finishing dialogue now!

The framework for the game is almost completely done- all that's left is to polish the overworld space and write up the story events. Hoping to release the game before December!
