Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a little progress update with you all. Recently, I decided to go back and revisit the classic Blender Donut Tutorial. it’s kind of a rite of passage for 3D artists, and for me it was a great way to refresh the fundamentals and get my workflow back on track.
The Donut 🍩
Learning basics again felt great, modeling, shading, rendering, all the small details reminded me why I love this process.
The Barrel 🛢️
After finishing the donut, I challenged myself with something of my own: a barrel model. This time i pushed further by using Substance Painter for the very first time to create real textures:
Rust & scratches
Dirt and wear
Warning labels
I wanted the barrel to feel worn, heavy, and atmospheric, something that could belong in the world of Guppy’s Mystery.
Why it matters 🎮
This was a big step for me, because it’s not just about modeling anymore. it’s about making assets that tell a story. Every detail adds to the horror atmosphere I’m building for Guppy’s Mystery.
👉 Here are a couple of renders:

What’s next?
I’ll definitely keep sharing more of these little steps. Each model brings me closer to shaping the dark, eerie world I have in mind.
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think about the progress so far!
