Courage
What is courage?
Do you need to be brave to be courageous?
Does it mean you have to be reckless?
Fearless?
...
These are the questions that I seek to answer. To find those answers, first you must discover truth. How will you find the light in darkness?
Ok enough dramatics, here's the report!
Overworld Update
Most of the tilesets and backgrounds have been completed!
I hope I can bring life to each area with unique defined areas and mechanics.
New Overworld Mechanics
There is going to be some platforming areas that may require a bit of skill, some of which are momentum based.
Speed
If you turn around in the air, you will loose speed. Hitting a wall mid-air will also have the same effect. You can also run across small gaps without jumping.
Climbing
A new mechanic: climbing! On the surface of walls, certain tiles will light up. These can be grabbed and used for wall climbing. Be careful though, climbing from side to side can be slow and you will not keep your speed while doing so.
Enemy hiding spots
Elements in the background may hint at the possibility of there being an enemy hiding. If something seems out of place or starts to move a little, an enemy could be nearby. Use this knowledge to avoid unnecessary encounters.
Frank is confirmed!!!

For those of you who don't know, Frank is an original character created by Exodus Games. He is wacky, wild, and (let's be honest here,) quite stupid.
He's going to play a role in the story, just not in the way you may think.
If you want to see what Frank can really be like, here are some links to some of Frank's games you can play in-browser on GameJolt for free:
Frank Simulator: https://gamejolt.com/games/spoopyfrankgame/1026946
Frank's Christmas SPECTACULAR!: https://gamejolt.com/games/FrankWare/944540
Be warned, these are really old projects, and may not work properly. Also be warned of poorly edited art.
In-Game Dialogue
The game's script is finally being written! For right now, I'm trying to edit major cutscenes before moving on to smaller, less importent encounters. That also brings me to another topic.
Your NPCs in my game?
For those who are following Darkest Knight, I will be open to putting your OCs as NPCs in my game! Here are the rules for consideration:
Post a picture of the OC you wish to add, as well as what you want them to say. I will 9to the best of my abilities) add them both as long as they are appropriate.
No cursing, swearing or cussing!!!
Keep the OC safe for children 10 and up.
if your comment breaks rules 2 or 3, YOUR OC WILL NOT BE ADDED!
And that's it for now. I know there wasn't much to show off this time, but I have so much I want to show you but can't yet. I just don't want to spoil all of this! I promise there will be screenshots next time. And maybe, just maybe a gameplay recording?
