Welcome to this month's devlog everybody! Hope everyone had a good new years since then! We've been slow in some areas, but we're still trucking at it at our own pace, here's the details;
Knuckles, artwork wise, is looking to be finished VERY soon! That includes his assets for levels and all other misc. stuff related to him along with his main sprites. In counting, so far, Knuckles himself is up to 133 custom sprites so far, over TWICE as many as Tails did (NOT including repeat sprites or sprites that were made by Sonic Team themselves)! I'm personally very proud of how he's been turning out, and I hope to finish up these last few animations soon!
Coding behind the scenes has also been going smoothly! Once again, Lime has been up to making custom objects and enemies for things that aren't in the original engine, so we've been slowly making progress on stuff like that as well. He's also, just in general, been making some good breakthroughs on stuff I thought we would have to compromise to make it a playable experience. Very proud of the work he's done so far.
Musically, unfortunately, we've been in an artblock recently. We've been trying to start a track for a level for some time now, but nothing that has been made has really stuck so far, so we've been focusing on other stuff in the meantime. We'll get something we like eventually, however.
Level design for Knuckles has also been going really smoothly! One of his levels is almost fully complete and just needs some finishing touches. After that, I need to make the assets for his secret level and then we're on track from there. Very exciting to be this far into the game!
Sorry this devlog was at the tail end of the month, we'll try and get the next one out a bit earlier in February. Sorry this is taking a while, as we're even approaching the 1 year anniversary of the demo (time flies), but as it's just me and Lime working, we're trying our hardest to make the best experience we can out of this.
See you all next month!
