Quick Update: I’m going to slow down on the FNaF related posts, so I can work on a project in Unity. I’m going to put a lot of work into it, and maybe even release it on Gamejolt if you’re all interested. Anyway let’s get into the theory.

Note: I’m calling the blonde kid “Cassidy”, as they don’t have an official name. The name “Cassidy” comes from the Survival Logbook, and is believed to be the name of Golden Freddy’s spirit.

TL;DR The drawing Afton used to control the spirits has Cassidy’s face glued onto the fifth kid. On Abby drawing, Cassidy is missing and in his place is Garrett. This could mean that Cassidy was keeping Afton alive not to make him suffer but instead to help him, as the movie makes it clear that drawings can help spirits remember their past.

In my previous theory, I suggested that Garrett was killed separately from the other kids at Fredbear’s Family Diner instead of Freddy’s Fazbear Pizza. I now realize how wrong I was, as there are very interesting details in the drawings of the MCI.

In the Yellow Rabbit drawing, we see that Cassidy’s face is glued on top of another kid’s face. This could imply that Garrett was killed with the other four spirits, while Cassidy was killed separately. Look on the left side of the drawing if you’re having a hard time finding it.

What’s even more interesting is that on Abby’s drawing, we see Garrett on the left side of the drawing as well. This further the idea that Garrett was killed with the other kids, and Cassidy was not.

Now this is very interesting, but this also brings up a bigger question. If the first drawing is meant to control the spirits, and Abby’s drawing is freeing the spirits from that control, does that mean Golden Freddy is still under the control of William Afton? I personally think so.

We see that Golden Freddy was the one to manipulate Michael into giving up Abby, and we do see Afton talk about how Abby would “love it here”. This almost implies that Afton and Cassidy were under the same page when it came to turning Abby into one of the animatronics. Add the fact that Abby didn’t try to free Cassidy by using her drawing, then it kind of implies that Golden Freddy is keeping Afton alive to help him as they wouldn’t be freed from Afton’s control yet.

This could also set up a motivation for Cassidy to torture Afton, similar to how Cassidy does it in UCN.
