This was a weird illustration for me.
I began with the idea that I'd draw Blaze and Sonic sharing some tea over some nice chat.
But somehow... By the time I finished drawing Blaze, it no longer felt fitting to include Sonic.
How did an illustration about friendship changed tone so suddenly and so drastically into one about loneliness?...
Maybe I just lacked the pixels to convey a more joyful emotion? I don't know.
Regardless, it got me thinking:
Life's paths sometimes take us to places where we cannot be accompanied. Places that make us leave the people we love behind.
Often times, it is our life's mission that brings us such loneliness. Such is the nature of life's tests sometimes.
Lucky for us, loneliness isn't forever.
Blaze endeavoured to protect the Sol Emeralds on her own. However, it was her discipline and perseverance that both brought her loneliness and the friends that came right after.
Loneliness hurts. Yes.
But we won't be walking alone forever. So let us persevere!

Things that we didn't intended.
