Here's the process of the illustration for @YugiohBombado

I don't use this method often, but this is an example of first painting values in greyscale, and then painting colours on overlapping layers set to the overlay blend mode.

This is a printable stationery page I drew for a friend I was writing a letter to. He loves redwood trees. 
For future stationery designs, I probably wouldn't tint the background unless I added a fancy fading border/frame.
