Okay, first of all, no, I'm not retiring or saying anything big. I just wanted a post to rant some of my thoughts on game development and give some development progress on the Isle of Beasts!
Development has been going slow but steady. I've already mapped out all the weapons, armor, and items. I have around 3 of the specimens ready, and the fourth one will end the demo I have planned to release sometime this month!
Even though development is going well, I still have a few doubts about the game. Mostly if it's going to succeed or not. While SDOTBI was funny, it was sort of a flop compared to my other games. Most of my game's follower counts range from around 9-12, meanwhile, SDOTBI has only 5 followers. I'm sort of just waiting on a game that will reach the same success that TRIBAL and Copy's quest reached.
Are there times I want to just shut my computer and give up on the project in order to do something else? Yeah. Are there times I think the plot is dumb and doesn't make sense? Yeah. Do I think it'll succeed? Probably not.
Yes, I know, success doesn't mean quality. There could be high-quality games that aren't as big as the low-quality ones, and I have to accept that. But here's the thing, even though I hope TIOB turns out successful, I highly doubt it.
