While his physical form is repaired and his slow conversion into the demonic Chessmaster occurs, Lake’s “soul” can freely wander. He meets a familiar being while trying to scry Haiden’s location.

Harlan: You will not take her from me! She will be one of us!

Lucas: You’re too far gone to realise what you’re doing to Ashley! I’m sorry it has to be this way Harlan but I will not let you harm her!

Haiden and Lake: *screech at one another aggressively*
