To start off people might have thought this project was dead. It is far from it. The engine that I showed off is non-existent. I've almost completely rewrote the whole engine from scratch. I've kept some features and polished them. That means the physics overhaul is on hold for the time being. I'm mostly been working on features I need for my "new" projects. As of now I am remaking Mini game collection and Homeworld takedown classic in the new engine and I'm really happy about it. It's great to work with. It's pretty much in a place I could release it but I have no time to support a public build right now since I'm actively working on new features. The tile renderer will be remade for the new engine but I'm holding off on it since I haven't started the rpg project I'm using it for yet.
Now to talk about the future:
I've always liked the look of vector graphics and I've been playing faith recently. The animations in that game are really cool so I really wanted something unique for my next game. I settled on making a vector graphics animation system. It will read anim files which will be JSON files. It will contain a index of frames with all the vectors to draw and the settings for the animation. The backend would be pretty simple. It will have object manipulation (to move game objects), audio capabilities, and a standalone editor/player. The player will be cut down from the engine but will be able to load the engine and game for testing.
That's pretty much were my head is at right now. Hope you all are doing well.
