Alpha Update #001
Welcome back to Things That Lurk in the Dark (TTLITD)! We are in the midst of development, and we are excited to be back.
To start off this post, I'm sure everyone is tired of COVID-19, seeing the CDC post ads about it, and celebrities freaking out, but everyone should stay safe, and try to keep contact to a minimum (Without buying all stock from stores, because we're going to die here). For us, we get to work on this game everyday without interruptions, so there will be many updates to come, and pictures to post.
Starting this update off, we have finished the Alpha build for the sewer map! We are proud of the map we produced, and we are sure you guys will enjoy it. We have some gameplay elements to add still, like some animations, object interactions, and objective goals, but the map building is complete.
There's a massive map in the works! We began work on a massive map, which is where the game will start off, after the sewer (More to be explained in later updates). This map is a forest surrounded by mountains and has a factory in it, which is just off of a highway. The pictures above show the current version of the forest, with the mountains being completed, and the trees being filled in. There are still many details to add, which will come in due time.
Finally, I would like to explain what happened in the last few months. After the year 2020 began, Xfinity changed their port system which ended up getting the server shut down to the outside world. We were trying to find ways around this issue for a while, and even tried to call their tech support. In the last couple weeks, we found the issue, and fixed the problem temporarily. About 4 days ago, we solved the issue at it's root, and we're able to work full-time once more.
With that said, there are more updates to come! We will be releasing our roadmap to those who care to watch development, and we'll start posting on our YouTube channel more. Many hours will be spent on this game during quarantine, which will make up for the lost time. Thank you guys for all the support, because without you, we wouldn't be here today. See you guys in the next post!
