PROGRESS UPDATE, MAY 2023



hey!! welcome back to the shadowfell devlog, where gamemaker language is slowly driving me insane


did i say monthly updates??? hahahahha

anyways!!!


CODING PROGRESS

i'll clue you in on a little secret, i'm pretty bad at coding. probably 90% of my hours on gamemaker studio 2 are me opening the program, staring at the screen and going "What" and then accidentally leaving it open overnight

because of this i quickly realized i'd need more help on this insanely ambitious project, so:

please welcome NEON-GR33N to the shadowfell team!! (that rhymed!)

they've been on board for a little over a month now and they've made some really great progress on some backend stuff and some in-game systems

most notably, they've been working on the battle system!

on the topic of backend they've been working on the save system, an improved dialogue system and a system to easily add borders in the future!

(also an inventory system)

MUSIC PROGRESS

i haven't made much progress on the music since last devlog, i've been swamped with exams so i didn't have much time to work. i did release one song:

there are a couple of more important songs that are in the works however...

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
