Progress Update No. 10

The Puppet (is their actual name public yet? Did I reveal that yet? It's been a while, for now I'll just go with Puppet) is completely reworked and finished again, as is most of the systems relating to the cameras. It's a small step, but something notable nonetheless. Would also like to mention:

  • Initial coding for the old version of the Puppet took several days if not a week, and was extremely messy and performance heavy.

  • The current version of the Puppet was finished coding in a manner of hours, is extremely clean, and is significantly lighter on performance. Their jumpscare has also been reanimated from the ground up, as I wasn't pleased with their older one. Will likely still touch it up before any form of release.

So yeah. Probably for the best that I did this whole reprogramming thing. Also got the basic movement code back in for almost every other enemy in the game, just need to re-set up their camera states. Got a little bit of modeling work done, too, as well as a lot of minor reworks to the player and the office.

Tldr; We're getting there. Shouldn't be long and I'll be back to where I was when I took a break, but I'll admit I'm probably not making the release I wanted. Should still be done before the end of the year, assuming nothing gets in the way.

Thanks for reading. See you again soon.

I call shotgun!

This is BEYOND early WIP, but a promise is a promise. Thanks for 300+ followers! Have a peek at a certain feature which may or may not be present in the demo (to an extent)

Today I realized that thanks to the addition of broken doors that are stuck halfway closed, all of my enemies are going to need to be able to crawl under them, and so, crawl they will.

Fear Fables: After Hours will have LIGHT-BASED PLAYER VISIBILITY for enemy detection!!!!!!

Merry late Christmas from Fredbear & Friends!

See you next year :)

Unreal Engine has some uh...interesting rendering bugs...

yeah idk how this happened. I just accidentally moved a slider too much and hell broke loose.

Need a short break from horror game development, so I'm currently working on learning the fundamentals behind some of my favorite games ever made, the Mega Man Legends games. Got the basic movement and locking on down, shooting next.
