🇺🇸 The new Skullrune Devlog has arrived!


Has it already been a month? Time really flies!

But well, today we bring you some fresh updates and content! ;D

Over the past few months, we've talked about Chapter 1, but... we never mentioned how many chapters Skullrune would have!

Well, today you will find out the exact number of...

The fangame structure will be as follows:

  • Chapter 1.

  • Chapter 2.

  • Chapter 3.

  • Chapter 4.

  • Chapter 5.

  • Chapter 6.

Yes, Skullrune will have one less chapter than Deltarune.

This is because the story we want to tell only fits into 6 chapters.

A lot has happened in this area!

First of all, we've been redesigning HomeIsland.

And now it looks much better than before! Don't you think? ^^

We’ve also created the houses for this island. We just need to finish the final map of the area!

As for new NPCs, we want to show the cameos of Mr. PM and Evelil, creators of the Deltatuber fangame.

They will be featured in Chapter 1 as a thank you for creating a fangame about the creator of Skullrune! :D

Oh, and yes. We also created Cocony.

The design isn’t ours, though. The creator of Momazos Skullrune made a design of Petaly Skullrune-ed (this is how we call the "pirated" versions of characters).

As you can see, this got a little out of hand.

This doesn’t mean that Cocony will appear in Skullrune.

We have new music! ^^

This time, we want to show you the battle theme of Skullrune, composed by RaleWM (AKA Weirdo Musician) and uploaded on his channel. We hope you like it!

Do you remember what we mentioned last month?

Well, we’ve now integrated the interfaces into the game! :D

As you can see, not only have we completed the dialogue system, but we’ve also worked on the portraits and their respective animations.

By the way, one thing not shown in the video is the following:

The dialogue system is configured in such a way that it not only supports colors, but also animations in the words!

And one last thing.

We’ve been working on a special effect for battles, simulating that you're underwater.

Here’s a beta of what we mean:

There’s still a lot to refine, like adding the necessary filters to make it feel like you're underwater.

This is a mechanic we really liked, and we wanted to implement it in our fangame! Plus, there will be areas and enemies where this water effect will be perfect.

Before we finish the Devlog, we want to announce that we’ll stop doing monthly Devlogs.

Now, we will release them every two months!

So, the next Devlog will be posted at the end of January.

Why the change?

The main reason is that we have a third project: UnderColombia.

This fangame wasn’t planned initially. In fact, it’s a project we managed to rescue before it was officially canceled.

As you can imagine, we’ll also have to do Devlogs for this fangame, not to mention the work we’re doing on the Visual Novel as well.

We’re ready for the work. Plus, all three projects are advancing rapidly, and there might be some exciting things coming in 2025... ;)
