The serpent was the most cunning, and the most curious. #Joltober2023 Slither

When I first saw the prompt I was a little at a loss for what to do. I could just "draw a snake" but that felt boring. But after thinking about ideas like cthulu tentacles and worms, I had the idea of the serpent in the garden.

But then my mind drifted into ideas for a while and I came up with the idea of the serpent being curious what death was, and tempting creatures (eventually humans) in order to observe its nature.

So I drew a manga panel! (at least that's what I was going for)

I had a lot of fun with the color and the contrast, never drawn anything like this before.

I used a few references for this drawing, and I feel like they contributed enough to want to show them here. I just found them on google images, but I'll link the bird one since it's actually somebodies art (google images has a handy "visit site" option)
