Transitions in games can serve several purposes, from hiding things being loaded to adding visual flair and character to the game. Up until now, Super Space Club didn’t have any. Not a single one. Every scene just cut from one to the next. Don’t get me wrong, this was always just temporary as I focused on other aspects of the game, but at some point, enough is enough! Basically, I got tired of the experience feeling janky when you were switching scenes haha. So, I decided to implement some transitions into the game, even if they’re simple and elegant for now.
This is where I landed. I think it’s really clean and checks that “simple and elegant” checkbox, but I really want something that will fit the vibe of the game more. I’m aiming for the game to be extremely stylish, and the graphical elements will help that greatly, so we’ll see where I ultimately land. For now, though, this will bug me a little bit less haha. This will do.

Here trying to figure out how the characters for Super Space Club will look in the game. This is how they will look in the HUD - haven't figured out full-body shots for the character select just yet.
This is Roscoe the Chameleon.
The current state of the Super Space Club title screen. I'm almost positive it'll change again at some point, but this is where we're at! Got some nice background blur going on and very minimal UI.

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 6 celebrates @Narwhalnut ![]()
! They program bugs (in the game Insectile)! We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What dev habit helps you the most?
This is Super Space Club — A top-down, minimal, endless gunner set in space where you dogfight to chill, lo-fi beats. Utilize dozens of combinations of characters, ships, and weapons to defend the galaxy! #pitchyagame #gamedev
Continuing with Blender I wanted to make a single chunk of a grid and put some stuff in it, so I made a few rocks and some shrubby! From a game design perspective, I think it would be fun to just make a game entirely using chunks like this 😊
I got some new key art made for Super Space Club and just wanted to share it with ya! It's so dope, illustrated by an awesome artist who goes by Orioto. Check his work out! #superspaceclub #keyart #art #gaming
