Y'know what? Screw it, one day early announcement because YOLO

FNaTAS 5 UE V2.0 Devlog #5 - THE BIG ONE

Here are almost all of the new additions that are coming in the 2.0 major update, as promised!

(Some of these may have already been revealed, but they're still included anyways just for the sake of having everything in one place~)

- Two new characters, brought back from the scrapped Beta version of the game, 9 years later! Of course, they'll be part of the main nights and the custom night.

- A brand new mechanic that might make the game more accessible for people struggling, brought back from the scrapyard as well

- Five custom night challenges, along with a 7th star for completing them all

- A slight rework for Night 6

- A new dialogue cutscene for completing max mode, way different than the rest

- A complete overhaul for the hats minigame, so that it makes more sense in the story

- Lots of new easter eggs (some creepy, some just jokes, some actually important ones)

- Decorative plushies as rewards for getting some of the hardest / tedious stars

- Multiple cheats as rewards for 100%ing the entire game

- Tons and tons of new visual effects in menus, gameplay, minigames, etc.

- A settings menu with many customizable options

- New music tracks for the Extras and Custom Night

- Lots of bug fixes and balancing changes, along with some recoded mechanics

- A reworked sounds system that is way less buggy, along with better sound mixing

- Upgraded to Clickteam 2.5+, which means faster loading times and more cool nerdy things

- Upgraded to Direct3D11, which means the game will run smoother and won't freeze anymore when switching to/from fullscreen

... and more small miscellaneous stuff!

This might not seem like much to you (or maybe it does, who knows) but trust me, once the update actually releases you'll almost definitely notice the difference.

As you've seen by the previous devlogs, I've already started working on it, and this feels like a completely new, fresh game, for the better.

It's waaaay more polished now.

I want to let FNaTAS 5 be the game it never got the chance to be. Am I putting way more effort than I probably should into this? Maybe. But hey, perhaps it'll be good practice for if I ever make more games in the future.

Right now I'd say the current progress is around 25% / 30%. I don't wanna promise any release dates just to fail at it, but I can say for sure that it will not be this year (sadly).

Your save file from 1.0 will unfortunately not be compatible, so you'll have to restart again from the beginning.

My intention was to let you carry it over, but it was kind of difficult to include some of the new stuff if it reused the same one.

Not only that but it'd be kinda weird because the overall difficulty of the game will be way higher.

If you have any questions about something, feel free to ask!

There's a big chance devlogs will be more frequent now, since I don't have to keep any of the new content a secret anymore.

The gamepage's description has also been rewritten to better reflect what this game is, exactly.

Hope you're excited! I know these 2 up there certainly are... ;)
