The action of the game takes place in 1984 in the city of Zaporozhye, located in the south-east of Ukraine. We play as Denis Vakarchuk, a detective who has recently started his career. He has recently taken on a case: to find Viktor Voronyuk, a popular local architect and mechanic who went missing two months ago. Denis begins his investigation in a forest called Khortytsya, closed because several people went missing there a year ago. When he arrives at Khortytsya and stops at the old forester's booth, which was next to the abandoned “Zaporizhian Sich” open-air museum, he notices some strange man locking someone in the attic of the church (which is located at the Zaporizhian Sich).
