Note this is a revival of the team's project from a couple years ago. This is the link to the old version of the game for those wondering about its past development.
Immortal Chronicles - Old Alpha by Shatter-Fantasy - Game Jolt

Immortal Chronicles is a Metroidvania pixel art game that focuses on allowing the player to make choices that influences how the characters around him develop and how the map itself changes. Branching paths allow for players to get to different areas in different ways allowing for a variety of ways to play through the game.

The game will allow for interactive map elements to change based on what items you use in combat or what spells you use. Depending on what combat path you play you might be able to take different routes before getting certain items.

Don't want to do the quest for water walking boots than find some ice magic to freeze the water allowing for a new way to make it over to the other side. Maybe even find a way to the room above the underwater canal and try to bring the ceiling down to create a new path from the falling debris.

Enjoy some choices in your learning tree to find different ways to win against your enemies. Maybe try adding your spells to mid weapon combos to see how that works. Never know what might happen if you try casting ice magic while doing a down thrust with your sword.

The game will be worked on over a long period of time it won't be anytime soon it comes out, but we want to start sharing the new remade version of it.

Alpha One - Initial Game Systems Test

Important note to players trying it out.

Started on the interior for the tavern. The tavern will be where you get quests and can gather information from NPC you made friends of.

The tavern NPCs are just stock placeholder art for now and will be replaced later with more custom art.

Small update real quick. Item dropping now works.

Enemies will have their own loot drop tables and a regional table. All enemies in a map, let's say for example the jungle, can now drop loot from a shared loot table on top of their own specific one.

The start of the character stat system is ready for the next build. Enemies should actually take a variety of damage starting next build.

Nice little screen shot showing on the right side a nice little editor to see stat changing effects and the sources.

Here is a small video to just show the work in progress save and load system being put in the next build.
